Last week I headed to Nantasket to take engagement pictures for Lauren and Bryan. I feel like Lauren booked me forever ago, and it's absolutely crazy that her wedding is coming up so quick! Anyways, we have exchanged so many e-mails in the past year, and Lauren has always been so supportive of my blog- she always writes me the nicest comments or will comment on Facebook when she likes my work- it has really meant the world to me to have her support, and have her trust me with capturing her wedding day.

We met in Hull at Nantasket Beach because this is where Bryan proposed. As we walked around, I could not believe how self-conscious Lauren was!!! Can we all just agree that she should be a supermodel? For realz. She kept worrying about how she looked, and it really got me thinking on the way home, about how many times this situation has happened to me since I became a photographer. As I was driving out of Hull, the sun had just gone down over the water, and there were a thousand specks of light reflecting. It was gorgeous. And I made a couple stops on my way out of town, one to grab dinner at a little lobster shack that had all these colorful buoys and painted beach signs. They were beautiful and I grabbed my camera and took a few pictures. And I started thinking how crazy it is that we can recognize beauty in every day things, all the time, but it is the hardest thing in the world to recognize it in ourselves. Trust me, I know... #55 on my 101 in 1001 is to "tell myself I am beautiful every day, and believe it!" It's the one that I KNOW I won't be checking off the list, because I haven't done it once since I started that thing a year ago. Anyways, I'm not sure if I'm getting my point across or not (lack of sleep in the past 3 days, sorry) but Lauren and Bryan are an absolutely gorgeous couple and I cannot wait to photograph their wedding. Pretty sure we could do the formal photos at a trash dump and they would make it look beautiful (but don't worry, Lauren, we won't :)
