Sheri and Brendon, Rehearsal Dinner

If any of you have ever seen American Wedding (one of my all-time favorite movies, and not just because I've wanted to marry Jim since forever), you might remember the part where Jim and Michelle are dancing at their wedding, and she asks how two oddballs like them found each other.  Jim looks at his new wife, looks around at their family and friends surrounding them with love and support on their wedding day, and he tells her that they are a perfectly natural, normal thing.  Perfectly natural.  I was thinking of that this weekend as I watched Sheri and Brendon, two of my amazing friends from college, get married on Cape Cod.

You see, Sheri and Brendon first fell in love on the Cape, they got engaged on the Cape, and so it was perfectly natural that they would get married on the Cape.  Laughing together, smiling together, they assumed their new roles of husband and wife together in a perfectly natural way.  And every time they looked at each other, I was reminded of how love should be: simple, easy, and perfectly natural.

I took some pictures for Sheri and Brendon at the rehearsal dinner, and it was so great to catch up with old friends and see Sheri’s family.  They have always been so supportive of Sheri and Brendon, and so welcoming to me.  They let me stay with them for a few weeks right after college graduation when I was looking for an apartment in Boston, they gave me a job when I needed some extra fund-ulation to support my shoe fetish, and I know if Melanie and Sheri ever open Kraft Korner, I’ll have a permanent position waiting for me :)  I also enjoyed meeting Brendon’s family for the first time, although I’m pretty sure I horrified Brendon’s mom by suggesting we take the wine home in to-go cups.  I was kidding, of course.  I think.

This is Sheri and Brendon with their maid of honor Julia and their best man Corey, who are getting married next summer.  So cute!

Sheri and Brendon, thank you so much for such an amazing weekend.  I had an incredible time, and felt truly blessed to be able to watch my good friend Sheri marry the man of her dreams.  I feel truly lucky to have you both in my life, and I wish you both nothing but the best in the years to come.  Clearly, I will be there documenting every moment with my obnoxiously large camera :)  Love you, have an amazing time in St. Lucia!
