The Duffy Family
Tonight I had the pleasure of photographing my friend Maureen's family in honor of her mother's 60th birthday! Moe is my friend Mike's fiancee, and an incredible girl, so I wasn't surprised that her family was incredible as well. So nice, so funny... and so well dressed! Everyone looked very nice for Mrs. Duffy's birthday dinner, and we met in Stanley Park before they sped off to dinner in their limo. And it took me all night, but as soon as I got home it hit me who Mr. Duffy reminded me of. The man is the spitting image of Jon Voight! I swear, looks just like him. I bet he gets it all the time. I mean, I know people are always mistaking me for Reese Witherspoon. ALWAYS.
Anyway, here are some shots I took for the family. I have to be honest, this was my first ever family portrait session, and I really struggle with group shots. It's really hard to be creative with them, so I try to stick to the basics of what I've been taught at weddings, but I usually get home and go through all the shots and realize there was something I forgot to do, or something I didn't angle right, or something I could have done better but didn't. It's a constant process, but I took a ton of shots tonight so I know I'll have plenty to give to the Duffy's. Hope they like what they see!
Mr. Duffy (aka Jon Voight) and the birthday girl!
Like I said, I sometimes struggle with group shots. So what did I do? I went all Brady Bunch on them. Hope they didn't mind :)
The girls giving their mom some love...
I tried to tell the boys that the bad boy look doesn't really work in front of a fountain, but whatever :)
Happy birthday Mrs. Duffy!!! Hope you had a wonderful day and a wonderful dinner. It was so great meeting you all, can't wait to share some cocktails with everyone at the wedding!
