Amanda and Matt: Vermont Wedding
A couple weeks ago, I headed north to Vermont to photograph Amanda and Matt's wedding day! Amanda and Matt had booked me from New York, but I was so happy to get to meet them a few weeks before the big day for lunch in Amherst. They told me more about how they met, their wedding plans, their families, and how they came to live in NYC. By the time I brought them to the bus station that day, I was super excited to shoot their wedding, and so honored that they asked me. I was also a tiny bit nervous, because I was shooting their wedding without a 2nd shooter, which I really never do. But since it was a small wedding, I agreed to ultimately shoot it alone (although I did hire a wonderful 2nd shooter for the ceremony portion)... and honestly, I could not have been happier about the way the day went. Amanda and Matt wanted a First Look, they listened to my timeline suggestions, and they had a point person organizing all of their family formals- and the day could not have gone smoother! We got sooooo many pictures in and had an absolute blast. Matt was the best sport- I don't know too many guys that would have lasted as long as he did! And talk about easy to work with... Amanda and Matt were another couple I didn't have to give much direction to, because they were happy to just be with each other and ignore me completely. And I was happy to let them! Honestly, it was the perfect wedding day...
Oh, and the best part? Amanda gave me a large box of maple sugar candy that lasted me a good two weeks. Gotta love Vermont clients! ;-)
Here are a couple of favorites from Amanda and Matt's wedding...
Dude, I'll say it. I was a NINJA during the first look. Usually I have my 2nd shooter cover one angle while I cover the other, but since it was just me, there was a lot of scrambling to get it all... and I'm very impressed with myself! ;-)
After roaming around a friend's farm in Marlboro, we headed up to Hogback Mountain for a few more pics :)
Ceremony time at the Marlboro Meeting House...
After the ceremony, we headed behind the church for some family formals against a beautiful pond backdrop and some beautiful foliage... and after family formals were done, we still had even more time for Matt and Amanda! Photographer's dream :)
The reception was set up inside the meeting house...
Matt and Amanda, I can't thank you enough for being so amazing to work with and making my job so easy that day. I wish you nothing but the best in your new lives together, and yes, Amanda, no matter where I am, I promise to be around for baby pictures someday ;-) XO.
